I actually kind of like M$'s products....please don't burn me..lol

I like IBM and Apple at the same level. I'd take either one. But when it comes to command line functions, I'd rather have a UNIX Bash prompt.....

I kinda thought Xerox pwn-ed Mac and Win-dose.

Hmmmmmn, I always thought that the downside of Mac's was the price. For similar performance levels, the peecees were always cheaper.

I remember well going into a heavily advertised Mac presentation in the early 80s when I was a student doing a retraining course on computers and the salesman simply looked at my non-suit garb and suggested I wouldn't be able to afford one and then ignored me and wouldn't respond to any of my questions. Since then I've had 6 all in one Macs and the $3000 pricetag has dwindled to usually less than $20. What a bunch of Fxxks so many of the IT "professionals" are and how little they have to do with computers much less with their development. But of course the "marketer" swine are always with us.

Yeah, the Apples are the only vintage computers that are still somewhat usable with little or no tweaking.
Not sure about that. What makes an Apple more usable than e.g. a C64, BBC, Spectrum or Atari (to mention a few brands which I know still are supported with new hard- and software)? Sure, Apples have a lot of internal expansion possibilities, if you find or make the right hardware expansion cards. The BBC at least has a bunch of empty ROM slots.

Well now, that's a plus if you can get a Mac for less than an
IBM! Generally in Oz it's the other way around & usually $1000
more than the equivalent IBM based machine!!

Yeah, their good though - if they don't break down all the
time. Our school used to have major issues - being pluged into
the network, vandals, hardware faults - that was back when
they were using Mac Pluses & Mac Classics - their perhaps a
million times better without slow network connections.

Hmmm. Yeah think that was what they used. Boy it was fun
though having 20-25 students in a classroom all click on
Clarisworks at the same time! ;-) All the kids having a smocko
time always came in late to avoid the hold up!
