I've just got a d16-x at ide controller, and i'm trying to use it with a 500mb CF with a IDE-CF adaptor.

At bootup the bios' card says 'hard disk parameters table scratched. Please setup hard disk'. After bootup (from a diskette) i can access the 'hard drive', i can see directories (msdos 6.22 and CF formatted in fat16) but cannot execute any program, like it was on a damaged sector.

Do you know any way of setup the CF card? Anything like DRIVPARM? Does CF has sectors, heads, ... ?

Thanks :)

See http://www.addonics.com/support/faqs/faq-bootcf.asp

But when I read stuff like, "To ensure compatibility and improve speeds, a Compact Flash media with UDMA Fixed Disk Mode is recommended. Compact Flash media without this may not boot properly.", it sounds like compatibility is still a significant issue. You may end up needing a particular IDE-CF adaptor and CF combination (one that's known to boot).
