first post on the VCF?

hehe, nice. *has a heart attack because the admin replied to his post* (well, not really...)

Anyway, the other question i have was who was the first member here becides Erik?

member #1 = VCAdmin
member #2 = Anonymous
member #3 = vintag4
member #4 = Erik
member #5 = erd

So the first member other than Eric was probably Anonymous (assuming VCAdmin is a built-in one?); the first member after Eric was erd.

Correct. The first three are "built-ins" of sorts, mine was the first real user account and erd was the first real non-me user.

Anonymous looks like a 'real' user with 18 posts, although I guess it could be some kind of catch-all if the MySQL database gets screwed up!

vintag4 is a real user with one post, although it is no longer visible.

In at least some of the topics, readers can post messages without logging in. Those posts goes under the Anonymous name.

That explains why I never got replies from them first 3 notorious zero postin' hounds! :-x

Except "VCAdmin" comes into play when Erik has been a bad boy - cause that's the real boss! ;-D

Chuckle, I see *everyone* is clicking on user erd to see if he is still around. Hmm, Last Activity: June 13th, 2008 08:04 PM. So, the answer is "not really".

I get the VCAdmin and Anonymous users as built is. But what is vintag4 used for?

Vintag4 was my account name at my old host and was used as my first "test" user.

Not quite a built-in, then.

Anonymous is, I think, the account assigned to posts who have lost their owner (the original poster's account was deleted.)

I'll have to check on that, though.

I joined Sept 11th 2003, what number am I on the list?

If you click on your user profile you'll see the link as: http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/member.php?u=193

The ?u=193 at the end means user number 193 (by Database key.)

Keep in mind, though, that although the key's are assigned sequentially the users in between you and the next guy might not actually be users.

Probably 1/2 to 1/2 of the registrations here are spammers (0 posts and quickly deleted.) :(

yeah, either that or they are legit people who never got their conformation email :/

Users 2001 -- computer-viagra? sounds like a spammer to me
