Hi,

I am currently tinkering with some archiac boards which, amongst other relics, contain Texas TMS34020 processors. It would really help if I could get my hands on a copy of the TMS34020 User's Guide (SPVU019 - something like 800-1000 pages) - hard or soft copy.

Note, this is entirely different to the TMS34010 and also there are no links to this doc on the internet, only to the Datasheet.

BTW: In a not-completely-unrelated subject, if anyone has any old ISA VGA boards containing 34020's (eg. SPEA Graphiti HiLite 1024, Datapath HarleQuin etc) in their attics and would like to see them put to good use, I would be interested.

Thanks,
BSD

Thanks for that Russ,

A very useful collection of documents, but alas, no 34020 (although it does have a document on the 34082 co-processor)

The TMS34020 User's Guide appears to be far more elusive.

Yup, it's a tough one to find, as evidenced by numerous requests over the years.

Not even the book-finding services seem to be able to find one.

You might contact TI pubs directly to see what they can do, if you haven't already.

I have an original copy of the TMS34020 User's Guide, SPVU019, August 1990 2564006-9761 revision. I also have an original copy of a January 1990 1604901-9704 version. I got these direct from TI 20 years ago.

I'd like to hang on to these, unless Al had time to chop them and scan them to post on bitsavers. I don't think you could do a decent job of scanning them without chopping them.

As I understood it, the 34020 wasn't entirely different from the 34010, but enhanced the instruction set to support a separate 3D coprocessor. I think I have a databook for one of these around somewhere, but I can't recall if it's the 34010 or the 34020. I'm guessing it's the 34010 one that I have.
