Packard Bell Navigator 3.5

Bob would you be interested in sending those to me so I can put them up for the club? We have an FTP server, or we can work something else out :).

Anyone know how I can get into the Pack Bell Club on facebook? Been trying patiently for a few weeks now...

Any chance you'd like to join us Bob? We'd really like access to that collection of restore discs that you have!

Sorry for necroing.

I formatted my Packard Bell 610. I wasn't able to save the little movie with the mime or clown it shows. Any chance there's a video on youtube? Or can I get the program to run off VM?

As Matthew suggested, you may find wat you're looking for on the FTP server. For the amount of stuff it contains, I'd have a big bet that you'll find it in there. And I also believe that the mime opening the box video is on YT.

Depending on what was used to upload it, the quality of the video on YT may be worse compared to what is on the FTP. For restoring it on your computer, I suggest you find the original video that has the better quality, but whatever suits you.

The Link to the club is expired, or it became private.:(

Sorry about the problems with that link, we had some issues w/ trolls so the group was set to secret temporarily. It's open again now: http://www.facebook.com/groups/PackBellClub/
Here's some of what I have if it'd help anyone, just join the group and let me know!

Also, if it's alright Bob, I saw you mentioned you're selling some of your machines? A friend of mine would be VERY interested in that PB Corner machine, any chance you'd sell it? If so I'll get ya in touch with him.

As Matthew suggested, you may find wat you're looking for on the FTP server. For the amount of stuff it contains, I'd have a big bet that you'll find it in there. And I also believe that the mime opening the box video is on YT.

Where is this FTP server?

I am still looking for Master CD's 175320 & 175500 but wanted to share some stuff I was able to dig up. After searching deep in the web I finally found an archive of Packard Bell motherboard bios updates. Somewhere around 2001-02 when NEC took over in the US, Packard Bell switched their support site to PriorityOneSupport. Wayback machine archived this site however it requires a login. No way to create an account or authenticate a login in 2016 so I was stuck. I figured out how to do a wildcard search on the wayback machine using http://web.archive.org/*/www.yoursite.com/*

With this I was able to search the url with this link: http://web.archive.org/web/*/http://www.priorityonesupport.com/downloads/*

I was looking under the PB section but then noticed some familiar board numbers under the NEC/Bios/ section. I cross referenced the numbers with the PB board model #'s listed here: http://www.oocities.org/sjg/mother2.html . Sure enough most matched.

I found a 770mb.exe file for my PB770 board and downloaded it. I opened the .exe file in Winrar and inside saw PHLASH.EXE. This was a great sign as my board has a Pheonix BIOS. I then opened PLATFORM.BIN in my HxD hex editor and saw this line: "Packard Bell C1 platform, PHLASH configuration file.............ZQFD2.00.BIOS.ROM". This confirmed that despite being under NEC these were in fact for Packard Bell boards. Probably because NEC bought them by this point. Farther in the file I also saw the line "Intel 28F002BX-T". Going to an old site for my PB770 board: http://www.oocities.org/sjg/pb770.html I confirmed that the BIOS chip on my board was indeed a Intel E28F002BX-T80 2M bit Flash EPROM. I will be trying the flash next weekend :)

Wanted to share the link below for those restoring these old machines for some DOS/Win gaming to save others hours of crawling the web.

I was wondering if there is a possible way to get an iso of (170894) I see the packard bell fan club on facebook isnt up and running anymore as it was 7 years ago since the last reply on here.

It is still up just renamed. It's called the Retro Computer and Packard Bell Planet now and is a closed group you can request to join.
