i'm running a NEC V20 at standard 4.77mhz and 10mhz turbo. If I was to add a 8087 which one do I want?

i'm assuming one of those cheap D8087-1's from China I see on Ebay will work fine but I wanted to check here before I spent any money

Yes -- unless you always run it in non-turbo mode, you want an 8087-1.

8087 clock speeds
Model number Frequency
Intel 8087 5 MHz
Intel 8087-1 10 MHz
Intel 8087-2 8 MHz
Intel 8087-3 4 MHz
Intel 8087-6 6 MHz

p.s. It's probably actually running at 9.54 MHz (2 x 4.77) in turbo mode. But the 1980s was the time when the Ford Mustang "5.0" actually had a 4.9 liter engine, so most companies took the liberty of rounding this up to "10 MHz" in their marketing material. :)
