Heh, I'll have to talk to Gideon again. Back in 2011, he wanted to move away from the 1541 Ultimate to concentrate on his new board, the Ultimate PPC for the Amiga (which is about to have its first public showing at the Amiga 30 celebration in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on June 27). I suppose I'm released from keeping the talk confidential

Ultimate PPC looks to be an awesome device. Looking forward to seeing it.
1541 Ultimate II is an awesome device that has some serious future potential. Hopefully it doesn't get abandoned.
Another device to check out is the Turbo Chameleon. Twice as expensive but can function as a standalone computer.

I know about it, but it won't work on my C128's. Quote from the Turbo Chameleon FAOs, "The current firmwares (Beta-6 and Beta-7) are definitely NOT compatible with the C128 at all! Please, do not try as bus-conflicts will occur, which can cause damage to components inside the C128."

Using a SuperCPU 128 instead,
