Hi, just missed you on IRC. I checked my CF-to-IDE adapters and the Activity LED is connected between the pin 45 on the CF card, via a 1kOhm resistor (in series), to the Vcc on the IDE connector (pin 39). Just be careful how you count the pins!, and check a few of the pins on your CF connector with a multimeter.
