Just realized I never followed up on this. So I got the XT-IDE card and it works wonderfully with my DOM. I've been happily booting to that for the last year. Has the side effect of leaving the IDE connector open for a CD drive :) Thanks a lot for all the inputs.

Dang...this is awesome. How many boards did you have to print to get them for $2? This would obviously be a MUCH easier way than what I was trying to do if it's cost effective...

I don’t know if it’s relevant but I recently had a similar issue. I cleaned the contacts and made sure the springy one at the top was bent down enough to hold the battery well and hit it with a little deoxit (mine was showing a bit of corrosion from a previously leaked battery) and that had me...

I would speculate that the original connector was five positions with only those wires populated in the connector. I have several like that. But like caluser2000 said, if it works it works!

Ok I’m ready to give up on this. Any recommendations for an xtide ISA card? It seems there are lots of choices out there.

Look at the corner of the printer, you can see the original color peeking through where the paint has been slightly rubbed off.

I will put your suggestions on my list of things to try, however it’s not even posting so I think the hang is occurring before the bios ever even examines the drive. I’ve made a video to try and illustrate the issue which I’ll post here later this evening.

After reading about some other peoples experiences I bought a cf card that was marked “industrial” and the system booted! It hung after post but it’s an improvement at least. Going to mess around with the settings this weekend.

It was set to 5V.

Thank you. I believe it is set for 5V but I will double check tomorrow.
