    Compaq Armada 4220T

I pulled this off the shelf in the hopes of making a WIN98 Machine to send to someone who needs one. It had Linux on it so I reformatted the disk and installed DOS from a WIN 98 Start up disk and now have an issue and a quandary... Issue: Pressing F10 during boot does not enter the BIOS set...

    Floppy drive questions....

Subject is 5.25" 1.2 MB drives.... Are these drives typically/always 80 track ? If not, will simply changing the speed effectively turn them into 360K drives or is the lowest common denominator 720K ? I have a feeling that this is not possible but I am not sure and holding out for the...

8 bit ISA SB card and joystick questions....

Unrelated questions that is. I was lucky enough (in my opinion anyhow) to score an 8 bit ISA sound blaster card for my XT clone. It's in the mail and should arrive sometime soon. Now when it arrives I won't know what to do with it (meaning I don't know what software utilizes it.) I'd love...

VTECH Laser XT now operating but still need some clues...

For a while I have been fixing an old XT clone and am seemingly at a good point. Mobo is working now as well as is the monitor (last time I ever screw with one of those.) They both tested my very limited skills but hard hardheadedness won out in the end. The Hard drive seems to be hopeless...

    Advice on programmer/tester

Sorry if this is in the wrong place. I am currently looking for a tool that can both test IC's and program EPROMS (as well as other devices.) There are plenty of them available I know, but being ignorant of the subject I was hoping some of you with more experience could chime in with some...

    Linear powers supply mystery...

Hope someone can point the way for me here... I have a linear power supply that is baffling me. Unconnected it runs 5x5 no issues. When connected to the Harness it is still good. When I plug it into the PCB the fuse does a slow burn and the 5V drops to less than 1 volt until the fuse blows...

    Adding reset button to C64

I'd like to add a reset button to my C64 and assume it is as simple as grounding out the RST pin on the 6510 with a momentary contact switch and filter cap. My questions are 1) is this all there is to it ? 2) I have seen two pinouts for the 6510. One show PIN 40 to be RST (labeled 6510 CPU)...
