    IBM 5151 MDA monitor fixing

Thanks for the diagram, checked and the tda1170s is getting 14.8v in PIN2. Pin 9 gives stable 49.8hz C401 has also stable 49.8hz at the pc connector side, but the other side of the cap that goes to pin 8 of the TDA1170 is jumpy and can see 49.8hz but it jumps on the scope to 16hz, and **. Maybe...

    IBM 5151 MDA monitor fixing

Hi got an IBM 5151 monitor, and it has seen better days, the "seller" told me that someone dropped it from a truck when he moved places in the past. The casing is cracked but the guts of the monitor are ok the PCB is in a single piece with no cracks don't seem to be any cold solder joints...

Drop-in 8088 CPU Emulator for the IBM PC - MCL86+

The original project in the thread is perfectly cool, don't need to add all that things you guys are asking for to much. The only thing is if the full 640k could be cached, could make this better. They are little software for 256k in dos.

Toshiba T5200C/200: Tips wanted for capacitor diagnosis/replacement

Look in my case, replaced all the PSU caps all (except the big high voltage ones that were expensive and looked ok) the caps looked ok until I removed them, and underside of them you can see the electrolyte. Also, the brightness of my screen was not very good so I replaced all the caps on the...

"Systemic Stupidity" How seemingly good information can be used badly when it comes to vintage computing methods on Youtube.

Another great method is covering stuff in fuel and setting it on fire for a few hours, this usually removes all dirt. xD

    The SLOWEST Alpha CPU !!??

Also have a AXPpci33 and a 166 chip, no L2 cache. Currently have NT 3.51 on it but runs NT4 also. Tried dec True64 and runs fine, but you have to flash the firmware to srm, so is not easy to switch between windows and unix.

Finally think I found the "correct" version for the dt07 card: https://archive.org/details/dectalk-ms-dos-drivers There are 3 files the correct one is the one called PC2V42C. The uguide.txt file says: FCC COMPLIANCE. FCC ID A09-DTC7B. That is exactly the FCC-ID printed on the card, check all the...

Coaxing a Luxor ABC80 to work

A long long time ago, found this Luxor ABC80. The computer is quite rare and on the internet is little information about it, the only useful information that I got where the schematics. This unit uses a monitor/PSU combo similar to how an Amstrac CPC could work. So decided to try to adapt a...

Getting an ST-225 drive to work on an ibm portable

This is my first time dealing with these very old drives. I have an ST-225 drive and use a segate11m/11R 8 bit controller.
