    Apple IIgs Possible bad IWM?

Looks like the SE uses the 28 pin DIP IWM like the Liron, not the PLCC IWM like the IIgs. So they wouldn't be directly compatible, you'd have to have a 28 pin to PLCC adapter built. That's probably why you remember replacing ROMs, there were 2 ROM chips and a 28 pin DIP IWM in the SE FDHD...

    Apple IIgs Possible bad IWM?

Mac SE 800k motherboard should have an IWM in the correct form factor, if you find one with battery damage. The FDHD motherboard / SE/30 board will have the 1.44MB capable SWIM (Super Wozniak Integrated Machine) instead. The SE ones might be socketed, as an upgrade to FDHD was a ROM set/SIMM...

    Apple lle problem

Another way to force the self test to run is to unplug the keyboard cable from the main board, then power it on. This was how they burn-in tested the motherboards during production. You could also try holding the open and closed apple keys down while powering it on.

    Apple lle problem

Hold down ctrl, open apple and closed apple, then press reset. This will run the built in self test. I suspect you have a faulty RAM chip, the self test should point it out.

    Apple IIGS Ticking Noise

Hmm... it might be something else. I remember seeing it on another system, but only in GS/OS.

    Apple IIGS Ticking Noise

The 5.25 light flash is the drive chain being polled by GS/OS, that's normal. Somehow I forgot that.

    Apple IIGS Ticking Noise

The larger capacitors (1000uf through 2200uf) are the output filter caps, they will connect between the voltage output and ground to smooth out the noise.

    Apple IIGS Ticking Noise

If you have an oscilloscope, you can check the power supply output voltages for ripple / noise.

    Apple IIGS Ticking Noise

Check the capacitors in the power supply, it may be that a smoothing cap on the output has failed and is passing some switching noise through.

My Threadripper 3970x / RTX 3080 ti system is in an antrhracite gray Enthoo Luxe case, the front panel connectors are convenient behind the door, and with the cover down, it hides them nicely from view. Wonderful airflow, you can mount a 420mm radiator in the top (I have a 360mm in mine). Nice...

The Mac Pro under my desk

If you have another Mac, you could install El Cap and patch it on the drive before installing the drive on the Mac Pro.

The Mac Pro under my desk

To install El Cap currently, you need to set your clock back to 2018 in the terminal first. The expired certificate issue can be mitigated that way. After install, you can set it back to current date/time.

Looking for advice about neighbor's sound reduction system

Go to the condo board immediately, this could cause structural damage from sustained vibrations at that level! You might also still want to try a decibel meter, as even if it's not audible, it could be loud enough to be an issue.

Anyone know of Generator repair forum?

What's worse is there are maybe three major battery OEMs, the brands are all just variations of those to the brand's specifications. So the battery you buy at O'Reilly or NAPA may be made on the same line as Interstate, Duralast (Wal-mart), or Mopar/FoMoCo/Delco/Honda/etc...

Anyone know of Generator repair forum?

Yes, both the rust converting primer and the epoxy paint were from rattle cans. Just be sure to follow the prep and use on the converting primer, and you should be good. It helps to remove as much rust as you easily can first, and make sure the surface is clean / grease free (iso alcohol or...
