    Sun Microsystems keyboard prices

I used their products to repair my Compaq portable - excellent quality and it made my keyboard function like new.

Can someone tell me why my TANDY 1110HD computer will not power on?

Always good to hear! Don't forget to replace the battery while you are in there (if you haven't already). I finally went back in late last year and replaced mine.

Can someone tell me why my TANDY 1110HD computer will not power on?

I'm glad you found them. Sorry that I didn't post pictures of them back in the day to save you that twenty minutes.

Just curious--anyone use any of the IA-k64/Itanium gear?

Me too! Well mine was some form of dual CPU IA 2600 that I bought on eBay after they carved up some supercomputer it was part of. Unfortunately mine was lost about five years ago in my big move. I had it set up to triple-boot at the time to Windows Server 2008, RHEL 4 or 5 (I would have to...

How I started up my ZP-150 - or what I did over holiday break.

Thanks for the tip - it comes up as the user manual (I have a copy of the user manual - this would have saved me $$), but it might be worth running down anyway, just to make sure its not the reference manual. I had thought to try libraries, but the ones near where I used to live had sold off...

How I started up my ZP-150 - or what I did over holiday break.

One of my first computers back in the day was a Tandy 200, and a few years later, I replaced it with a Tandy 600. Why not, right? More contiguous memory, a floppy drive and it had an 80 character screen. Unfortunately, it was not quite the 'upgrade' that I was looking for and although I...

Tandy Portable Disk Drive 2 Service Manual eBay Fundme

Thank you for this. Waiting patiently for the 600 service manual. Thank you for working on getting this manual out there and of course also a thanks to IBM Portable PC for identifying the opportunity and starting this thread.

What are the top 10 rarest vintage computer bits you own?

I love the screens on those - very readable for the time and your laptop's plastic is in very nice shape too. Those are the 20MB Conner drives that Tandy, Panasonic, GRID, et al used in the laptops of that era. There are a couple of threads in the forums that deal with attempting to replace...

What are the top 10 rarest vintage computer bits you own?

I've seen a lot of great items in this thread and it looks like I will have to put together an improved wish list, after this. I (like so many of you) have a lot of computers and while some were hard to get, it was usually a matter of getting a better deal instead of them being completely...

    I finally own a GRiDCase 1520!

Thanks for both of your replies. The bumper-less head stop fix is an interesting solution (I've been concerned about what happens to the tape over time - I know, I think too much!) and I love the idea of 3d printing the seals, did you create your own .stl files, or did someone make them...

    Midwest 1958 Mated-Film Memory Array 1024 bits Univac Sperry Rand Prototype - ? $$

I also agree that it is a very period-correct thing to have done. ...or you could make an online game out of it by taking pictures of them and having people do the work for you as a challenge. ;)

    Midwest 1958 Mated-Film Memory Array 1024 bits Univac Sperry Rand Prototype - ? $$

The 2nd link at the beginning (https://dl.acm.org/doi/pdf/10.1145/1461518.1461540) is to a paper that gives enough detail to build the circuits needed. What is probably lacking is more that one sample of the memory, if you were to mess up and overdrive something.

    I finally own a GRiDCase 1520!

Thanks for continuing to post pictures of that beautiful screen (I'm living vicariously - I hope you don't mind!) and I agree that it is very interesting to find these earlier-than-3.1 versions of Windows installed. I'm sorry to keep dragging you back to the HD fix, but how did you...

    HP 715/75. Is it dead?

I used some very, very long ago, but really don't recall anything of use. If you have not already looked here the documents they have listed may be of some help.

Replacing hard drive in Tandy 1110HD

You are correct that it must be the 20MB Drive exactly or it will not work (it is the same issue for the other Tandy/Panasonics as well) and there was a member named leeb from a while back, who was able to get larger drives to work with a 'Drive Overlay' (whatever that was). I'm glad that you...

    WOOHOO!!! Got my 2810HD!!

So did you decide to post to this thread and no one responded? (I just finally started going through my Tandy's/Panasonics again, or I might have seen this sooner - sorry) or did you decide to start a new thread and I missed it? Anyway, the Panasonic CF-270 is (mostly) the same as the Tandy...

    Sun Microsystems keyboard prices

Congrats! It is so much easier to use them (Sun system) with a keyboard and mouse. And they look really cool too.

    Sun Microsystems keyboard prices

If you are patient and persistent, you will find these for a good price, but you have to watch for the outliers, as well as the obvious searches. I already snagged mine - a pristine, working, HP HP-HIL keyboard that I got for around $35 was a steal, but it was listed as a keyboard for a medical...

Newbie looking to get into vintage unix workstations, requesting advice.

I know that you are looking into running real hardware here, but if you need to investigate a little further, before you leap, don't forget that you can run Solaris and AIX in emulation (I have not been able to get QEMU setup for AIX yet, but I have seen the web page where they claimed to set it...
