    Toshiba T5200C inverter repair

Then, after re-checking the transistor I changed, I can say that it is faulty again. I'll re-replace it, just in case I did something wrong in the first place, but as you say @daver2 it could be the result of something else going faulty. I can't see anything else damaged on the card, I checked...

    Toshiba T5200C inverter repair

Bad news : after replacing the burned transistor, the machine doesn't works back :/ the fans and leds turns on for few seconds, then the power cut off (I assume it is a security cut off by the power supply unit). When I turn on with the screen removed, the machine starts normally (at least it...

Identify an old 4MB memory expansion module

@krebizfan Dimensions of the module : length : 9.6cm (about 3.78 inch), width : 4cm (about 1.57 inch). @twolazy It seems similar but I count 22 pins on each side of my module, 30 pins on yours, the I assume mine is not for SLT 286, but maybe for SLT 386, we'll see !

Compaq Portable III and RAM above 640K

Hi everyone, I have an old Compaq Portable III with 640K internal RAM and no RAM extension card. The 640K internal RAM comes from 2*256K SIMM modules + 128 soldered on the motherboard. I found on my closet 2*1MB SIMM modules that seems to work with that Compaq, but it only detects 640K instead...
