    Cromemco Cyclops Build!

Thanks! Yep, used the foil patterns from the original magazine article. Copies can be found here.... https://deramp.com/swtpc.com/PopularElectronics/Feb1975/PE_Feb1975.htm

    Cromemco Cyclops Build!

I replicated the PCB and started putting one together last year. However, something more shiny came along and distracted me. I should really get back to this :)

DEC DIGITAL PDP-8E / TU56 DECTAPE TRANSPORT IN CABINET W/ MANUALS

It's a scam unfortunately. The seller also had an early Apple II and an Altair 8800 that I've spotted several times over the past year or so. Also known to list other high value items. Seems to be done using compromised accounts and only stay listed for an hour or two before being removed. I'm...

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

My Sirius is a bit of a mash up of parts from different machines. It's currently packed away but will dig it out later in the week and have a look at the Xebec card. I'm sure I did try a newer ROM on the Xebec board without any luck and I recall reading about a limitation on the earlier Xebec...

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

I'm also running one of @djg 's emulators in my Sirius. Works great but I seem to have an early version of the Xebec card that doesn't seem to support any drives over 10Mb. Currently have the emulator configured with 10mb virtual drives. Cheers, Dave

    Serial PDP-8/e like computer?

I was toying with the idea of doing something similar myself and was looking at basing it on the Fabri-Tek MP12. Section 3 of the documentation has all the schematics... http://bitsavers.trailing-edge.com/pdf/fabritek/mp12/ The MP12 does use core memory and the front panel is a bit limited so...

    Paper tape spindles

A small section of 50mm PVC pipe would probably do the trick nicely :)

    Paper tape spindles

I'll grab the dimensions & take a photo of mine when I get home, later.

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

No problem at all. The faulty drive & controller are on my repair to-do pile. A Gotek style device would be great but don't think that would be an easy task on the Sirius. Much easier to get some sort of hard drive / flash storage since it has the DMA card. Cheers, Dave

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

Yes, great to meet you too! Well, as we expected the floppy drive was also faulty along with the controller. Good news is that it's all working fine now after swapping in the spares. DMA card also checks out good! I'm passing by the museum at some point next weekend so will drop it back off...

Has anyone seen an Osborne keyboard like this?

The construction looks a lot like the RFI keyboard found on later Apple II+ machines. https://deskthority.net/wiki/Apple_II

Were these repro Altair 680 boards?

I actually bought these. I believe they are probably from one of Grant Stockley's replicas. Definitely not original.

Yeah, been twice and was there on the official opening day. Had a great time :)

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

No Probs. I'll drop off a set of disks anyway along with the spare disk controller which I know works. Hopefully that will help rule out a hardware problem with the machine and potentially fix it if there is a fault :) Cheers, Dave

    Victor 9k / Sirius 1 Software

Hi Gary, Is the machine a dual drive unit? If so, does it attempt to boot from the 2nd drive. Was thinking of calling into the museum sometime next week while I'm off work. Can bring a good boot disk and my disk imaging setup (Greaseweazle v4 with a Panasonic JU-475-5). I may also have a spare...

    Vt102 without a keyboard

Yep, sounds just like the one I have here. VT100 that has been upgraded to VT125. The graphics capability is pretty nice. Cheers, Dave

    Vt102 without a keyboard

Does it say VT102 on the label at the back? I have a VT125 (Upgraded from VT100) and a VT102. The 102 is a much more cut down machine, missing some of the slots to upgrade it. If it's saying VT125 on power up, I'm guessing the internals have been upgraded or the lid/badge swapped. The VT125 is...
