$1000 outbound, too rich for my blood, but a nice piece....

Many of you have probably seen this auction (not mine) $1000 opening bid seems real high to me, but I will grant them this is actually "rare" compared to most the other ridiculous "vintage" computer auctions ($1000 "woz" IIgs's). I would love one of these in my collection, but that's out of my ballpark (probably not even the same sport, lol), but this one is probably genuinely worth this much to a serious collector.
 
Outbound actually beat Apple's Mac Portable to market with that machine, it was the first portable battery operated mac. Too bad you had to pull the ROMs from a Plus or SE to make it work (this was before apple licensed clones).
 
Another major one to add to that category would be the Franklin Ace 100 and 1000.

Except The franklins were illegal clones, they copied apples ROM outright, outbound at least did it "legally gray" by having user pull roms themselves, the franklins outright copied apple ROMs which is why they were stopped.
