Looks over the last few days the green light was given to upload the source code for SCP's 86-DOS and early source listings of MS-DOS and PC-DOS. There's been a flurry of news articles in the last 24 hours.

For posterity, the github page hosting it is here: https://github.com/DOS-History/Paterson-Listings

I know @geneb was working on archiving other early releases of 86-DOS a few years ago here ( https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threads/earliest-known-copies-of-86-dos.1246146/ ) and you can find those images on bitsavers now but I don't think either party is involved in this release.

No, they weren't involved in this release. Me and three other people worked on this since last fall when I recovered printouts from Tim Paterson. We did some early work with Gene's disks, but that's not part of this release.

There's a full source release on the net - I think Archive.org has a copy. It was some kind of leak MANY years ago, but based on my recollection it was a complete and buildable source tree.

Yes that’s correct and it was a long time ago. It might have actually been a 6.0 beta or something, rather than the release.
