Some time ago I picked up an Acorn Archedes 410/1 from our local NZ major Action site. There was no keyboard or mouse with is whch was not a problem as had a couple from an Acorn A4000 purchase. The system has had an ARM3 cpu upgrade as well as a ram upgrade from the original 1meg. It also has RiscOS 3.1 ROMs fitted so upgraded from RscOS 2 Arthur. It has the "green on sync" vga issue which is well documented and I intend on rectifying. It also needed a bit of a clean up.

So far I've cleaned up front plastics as well as fitted a switch for correcting the sync on green vga issue. I've also replaced the case fan filter from which was disintergrating as well as clean the fan itself, fitted a psu fan, tidied up rear lh bottom of the housing under the battery holder to remove some minor battery corrosion. The CMOS battery holder is not situated on the mobo so no possibility of the mobo being damaged.

I've just cleaned up the Acorn 410/1s drive mounting plate and making up some hdd mounts for it. A PO just mounted the replacement ide drive straight on to it by drilling two holes and using screws to mount the hdd from underneath. After my mod you don't need to remove the drive mounting plate from the system to remove the hdd. After disconnecting the cables you just remove a clip like the newer Acorn A4000s.

Added the switch for the sync on green issue and led for the hdd under the front fascia. Finished tidying up the drive mounting plates. Fitted a small screw to the rhs of the bottom plate to hold the plate in position while fitting the assembly to the Acorn system
