Just got an ebay sort-of-bargain 99p (and a very cold day out at the seaside) I was hoping it was scsi, but it seems more likely to be a pertec interface. it had a 50 way density-and-a-half D type plug on the end, which (unfortunately) went onto some pins of both 50 way connectors on the back.
Anritsu were apparently the first self-threading drives. It loads up pretty well, the reel gripping bands are a bit worn & hard, but I've some hopeful replacements on the way. It does the threading by blowing a stream of air over the free end of the tape, along the tape path and slowly reeling it out, checking it's progress through optical gates, and reeling it in a bit if it fails.
Anyone know any more about it ( model number DMT 2620 NZ), and also if a pertec - ISA interface was ever made?
