Are Compaq "Enhanced keyboard" cables interchangeable with IBM model M SDL cables?

We have a Compaq Deskpro unit and a (matching?) "Enhanced keyboard", but they're missing the cable that goes between them.

Assuming the two are compatible, can we borrow the SDL cable with an AT plug from an IBM model M to see if the Deskpro still works?

Far as I know they are... I remember using the one from my compaq keyboard on a model m 20 years ago to see if it worked. I used the big DIN 6 style connector cable.
