This newsletter is basically the story of one I.T. guy finding his way back into the Atari 8-bit world after being away for about 30 years. I’ve been working on it for the last year and a half, sharing what I’ve learned along the way, sometimes the easy way, sometimes the hard way, and sometimes by accident when something actually works.
That is part of the fun of it.
Each month I try to cover a mix of things: old Atari memories, modern tools, programming, hardware, old newsletter reprints, little experiments, and the occasional project that makes me ask, “Why did I start this again?”
The June 2026 issue of Atari Insights is now ready to be downloaded.
This month I put the final touches on my FujiNet Weather Station project, looked at backing up old floppies with the A8PicoCart, included some ACTION!, Atari LOGO, and Atari BASIC, and started thinking a little more about where the Atari might go next with newer helper devices like the Raspberry Pi Pico.
