If there is one Atari Jaguar game that deserves a new, limited production run, it is 4Play’s Battlesphere Gold. Even in the price range of 125 to 150 USD, there will still be a buying frenzy.

Yea for sure! Don’t know how true it was, just coming from someone on Atariage, but a few years back I read that they wouldn’t let it happen for the people that had copies already… maybe Battlesphere or BSGold or something… If true I hope things can change, but I understand respecting the original buyers. Anyway thanks for your original post interesting to look through it all!

I purchased Towers II for the Jaguar when it was released in 1996. In 2023, an improved version was issued, reducing the game’s rarity value. I am not concerned, as I did not buy Towers II to sell it for an obscene profit 30 years later. A second production run for Battlesphere Gold will decrease the value of the previous release, but, more importantly, more Jaguar enthusiasts will be able to experience the “fun’ of playing the game. For now, all we can do is watch YouTube videos of the gameplay.

Well for the record I am with you I want a re-release ! All this JAG talk I went and bought 3 more yesterday (Switchblade 2, Xenowings, and Jumping at Shadows) Brings my total to 120 originals Carts, CD’s and a few betas and homebrew. I was more a C64 , NES player in the 80’s but lately gravitated to collecting the Jaguar I guess b/c it seemed interesting since I didn’t know much about it till a few years ago. Like the graphic style too. Good community now seems like a lot being developed so maybe we’ll get it soon Enough

I have played SwitchBlade II on the Atari ST, and it is a very good game. I checked a YouTube video for Xenowings and noticed it is a Galaga-type game. I still play Galaga at the local video arcade. Good stuff!

Yes… one of my all time favorites… remember playing Galaga on the cocktail arcade cabinet in a restaurant in the mid 80’s … and also good to hear Switchblade II is good. I have the first one on the Jag too but haven’t opened it yet but sure I’ll like them both. Getting too much stuff and hard to keep up so I am narrowing down a few systems and consoles this year after decades of hoarding, lol Gonna take a while to slim down, still like everything I have I just won’t have time to really use/play everything so making the tough choices this year and next…..but the Jaguar will stay put for awhile… anyway thanks for all the insight and replies!
