Atari SLM605 laser printer

I have an Atari printer I found in the electronics dump at my old workplace. I'm missing the paper cartridge (the thing sticking out on the side), otherwise it is good condition. I have not tested it, simply because I don't know how. (If you like me to power it on and do something specific, I will)

Its yours for shipping, otherwise it probably goes into the trash.

Alternatively, if you have a paper cartridge and necessary cabling, I would like to try and hook this up with my Atari 1040 st.

Can you pop it open and see what is written on the toner cartridge?

If it's a Canon SX or other common type engine then that will make it easier to find a paper tray that will work with it.

ISTR that the Atari laser was a Canon engine--and little else. All of the smarts are handled by the CPU.

Unfortunately I can't see any canon labels or markings inside. There is a reference to "drum unit z"
