Building new system disks, possibly on an emulator?

Still struggling with my BBII 5.25" disks :) Currently booting a Xerox 820 CP/M, but some BBII-specific stuff such as formatters and disk utils will not work as the Xerox CBIOS appears to lack the calls above READID (FF2A).

So, what are my options? To use the Xerox boot disk and compile the BBII CBIOS and then go through the motions? I would very much like to do this on an emulator, for speed and convenience :)

edit:
or come to think of it.. BIOS lives starting from sector 3 on track 0. So it should be possible to patch a RAW image file with a new BIOS?

z8pack seems to do the trick. Just FYI. It uses. DSK files, but they are not DSK files, they are really RAW files.

Gotten as far as a working SYSGEN. Problem is: How do I fit 43 sectors into 36... ?
