Byte Magazine in PDF form

I've made quite a number of attempts since yesterday evening to get this to work. I started a download about 5 hours ago and it has been showing 2 hours and 3 minutes remaining for the last hour or two. I don't think this works. There is a fellow on that list who is mirroring this too, and only partial files come down from there. Nothing of use. It's certainly kind of these people to offer, but . . .

I tried both Firefox and Wget. Neither site works properly for me and I get strange download stats too. To me it looks like a broken server. Are you using the individual links in each post, or the mirror site?
 
There's two guys that have set up mirrors on http and ftp. I've thought about setting up another mirror as it's only 10GB of hd space and I have three 25/5 cable modems that could serve it from home.
 
I have been using Firefox to download these directly from the thread links provided, not from mirrors. In the months since the first PDF was posted, I have had only one problem with an interrupted file download.

The download finished, there were two broken links, one on page 5 and one on 6 I think.

I used the links provided in the threads, and I got about 500k/s ~ 600k/s download speed.

My file server mentioned in my signature is almost up and operational again, so I will make them available there.

Maybe too many people tried downloading at the same time. I don't think the guy is set up for mass download. Those files are pretty big too.

Before starting the thread here, I downloaded about 1.7 Gb with no problem. (but by clicking on individual links, not using wget to get the whole bunch)

I mirrored one of the mirrors and should have it up shortly. Hopefully this will help alleviate some of the conjestion.
 
Ok, I will check out your mirror when it's up.

Turns out I ended up losing my entire RAID of data, but I have an old backup, so I'm still working on bringing my server back up.

Do you have 31 byte mag files? That's how many I ended up with.
 
I tried to get some other ones through the Forum links and, yes!, it worked. I only want a few of them, but the 1981/4 issue from this mirror, is just not going to come down for me. I left it on all night and when I got up it had finished at 210MB (for a 273M file) and was broken. This is my fifth try at that one and I must have downloaded around 1GB of broken bits (at 120Kbps) by now. Oh well, beggars can't be choosers, I'm grateful for what I got. :)

I'm getting an error -File does not begin with "%PDF-" when trying to download a file.
