Commodore 128 & RetroLink wifi modem: which terminal program to use?

I downloaded DesTerm v1.0 and v2.0 and wasn't able to get either version to work with the wifi modem. The modem works great in C64 mode with CCGMS but I'd like to use an 80-column terminal on the 128. Any suggestions for terminal programs for the 128 that do 80-column mode and will talk to a userport modem device?
 
DesTerm should "just do it" if you set it to a sufficiently high baud rate with the right driver. Since you're already in VDC mode, it should be 2MHz already.

You said it worked with CCGMS, though. Ordinarily the 64 can't do 9600bps. Which version of CCGMS (there are tons) and how is that configured?

It says "CCGMS Terminal 2021" on the disk and on the start screen. It's configured to use 4800 baud and the UP9600/EZ232, and the Turbo switch on the back of the RetroLink enabled. But for 128 mode that turbo switch is turned off since it interferes with the 1571's operations.

Userport wifi modems can do 9600bps on the C64 using "UP9600" mode. This will not work on the 128 because it interferes with the SRQ line. Perhaps if you are not using a disk drive with SRQ support (i.e. not a 1571 or 1581) it may work. I don't know for sure.

I don't know if Desterm can do UP9600. You may be limited to 2400 baud in 128 mode for these reasons, without a serial cartridge setup.

Right, so I turn that off and disable the Turbo mode switch on the back of the modem when working with DesTerm. It's just that DesTerm doesn't seem to see or talk to the RetroLink, which is the problem I'm trying to solve now.
 
Following up. I managed to get things working at 2400 baud using DesTerm and the RetroLink. I found the config window and set the buffer correctly and things started working.
