I replaced the screen from a broken 486c (with working screen) on a monochrome. After replacing I found that the graphics care isn't working properly anymore. The card is only working on VGA out (on an external screen), but not working anymore via the ribbon cable. It seems that the ribbon connector on the card itself isn't working anymore. I'm sure its the connector because if I try the other graphics card (from the broken color version), I get output on the screen. But the other card has different problems.

The other card gives output, but not much. It gives a blinking cursor only. Anyone common with this issue? It seems like the system starts normally, but the graphics card is only displaying a blinking cursor that replaces a few rows down after some time and then dissapears.

Anyone common with one of the two issues? I hope somebody can help with a fix on one of the cards. Thanks.

I remember seeing a retropaq post about reflowing the graphics card on facebook, you could try that. some of the solder joints could be cracked. You may be experiencing the same issue as Retropaq.

On another note, I was researching where I could find one of these computers because I have been looking for months, but do you intend on keeping it? I would be in the market for a 486c, It's an obsession at this point trying to find one that isn't scalped for a thousand dollars.
