I have a Compaq Portable III computer with the original keyboard and backpack expansion. It works, but the keyboard cable outer cover is cracking and the keyboard is being somewhat difficult, it doesn't send characters with every keystroke, etc. The problem goes away when I hold the keyboard cable in certain positions, so I'm betting the keyboard cable is shorting, etc.
Does anyone know where I can get a keyboard cable to replace this one? One option is to connect an IBM Type M with the AT cable to the computer, but I'd like to keep the original for "show and tell" moments.
