Convex SPP Exemplar and SPP-UX Unix

Are there any Convex SPP Exemplar owners or ex-admins of SPP-UX Unix on here?



Convex Exemplar SPP were PA-RISC based mini-mainframes designed by Convex in the 1990s and taken over by HP later that decade. They ran SPP-UX, a microkernel adaption of HP-UX that was binary compatible to it. Both Exemplar and SPP-UX seem super rare and not much information has survived since the 1990s.

I do have questions on actual SPP-UX releases on SPP Exemplar systems.

Anyone here with practical experiences or recollections?

I do own a running SPP 1200 CD as well as some SPP-UX releases.

The most important and knowledeable person is Camiel Vanderhoeven, who own at least a 1200 and 1600XA.

I was admin and developer on a Convex in '87. Quite aa machine at the time. Made a lot of use of the vector processing.
