I will soon be recieving my first early IBM compatible, a Samsung XT clone with afloppy drive and no/non functioning HDD.
I want to try out CP/M, never used it before, to make it even harder for myself, Is there a version that will run on the 8088 architecture or perhaps an emulator that runs on the same.
Thanks.

MyZ80 is an awesome emulator. But you need to know that it doesn't come with the CP/M operating system, for obvious reasons. You can still buy CP/M from California Digital. It will come on 5.25" media in Xerox 1800 format, which can be read by 22DISK. You'll need to copy the programs from the floppy to DOS and then IMPORT them into MyZ80 to have a fully functional emulated CP/M.

Good thing it is a free download. Your link "California Digital" says "let's talk about lots of 100 units" for CP/M. Just what I need, 100 copies of CP/M.

While I don't doubt they want to move hundreds of units,
they were happy to sell me a single copy.
