I know it's a long shot, but I run a YouTube channel with 1M+ subscribers that features a lot of DEC equipment. As part of that, I've built out a sizable collection.
As part of the current collection, I have:
PDP 11/04
PDP 11/24
PDP 11/34
PDP 11/44
PDP 11/73
PDP 11/73
RL02 Drives
RK05 Drives
RA82 Drives
VAX 4000
Altair 8800
IMSAI 8080
TRS-80 Level 1
CBM PET
CBM SuperPET
Tektonics 4105
PC 5150
IBM Model 95
Unlike most collections, though, I like everything to work, boot, and run! And it usually does, but with that much vintage hardware, there’s always SOMETHING to do.
There’s a genuinely interesting mix of issues, from vector displays to huge power supplies. I’m ok with digital electronics, but once it gets analog, I’m lost ;-)
Basically, I’m looking for a competent tech who would be interested in coming into the shop part-time to do electronics repairs. I keep hoping there are retired and bored DEC field techs from DECWest or similar, but I haven’t found any! But I figured you might know someone!
If you have any recommendations or an electronics bulletin board to print and hang this post on, please do!
Thanks!
