Did any of the retail VIC-20's have two logos like in the William Shatner commercial?

While watching the old William Shatner TV promo for the VIC I noticed that the unit displayed had two logos on it, the standard one in the upper-left corner but also a rainbow variation right above the keys.

Here's a capture from the video in question. I don't recall seeing any other units like that and am curious if any units were actually sold with the second logo or if it was just for the commercial.

I've never seen any evidence of that being anything but set dressing. But hey, you never know, maybe the car stickers on this one are also a rare but official variant.

They probably did that just for the commercial, so you could actually read the name on the crappy TVs back in the day.

Yeah, that likely makes the most sense. It was more of a curiosity item of wondering if any the really early units released into the retail channels sported the sticker or not because, for as many times that I've watched that ad, I hadn't noticed the second logo before. 😁

I guess to be fair it appears in *two* commercials, IE, both of the ones with William Shatner. I'm going to guess it's the same unit and they filmed them the same day.

Apparently I'm not the only one who was amused by how "The Shat" lovingly fingered the VIC in that second commercial...

I love one of the comments on that first video: "The original PC Master Race!"

I'm just disappointed this wasn't an actual commercial. Lord Humongous was a truly beloved character to American children in the 1980's, they could have moved a lotta VICs.

I think it's reasonable that it's not a production model. A lot of commercials used "props"

Other advertisements beyond the Shatner commercials featured a VIC-20 logo sticker on the case below the badge plate. Here are a few examples:

That last one is a color inversion of a book, hence why the colors for everything but the computer are all wrong -- the point is that it has that sticker, and the photo angle is slightly different from the UK localized example top right. You'll also note how the Shatner one is centered on the keyboard, whereas these are left justified, so they clearly did this to a number of advertising examples. I don't believe any units with this sticker ever sold, as no examples have ever surfaced. Sorta like how we've never seen a C64 with a badge featuring blue text (as was seen in early advertisements).

I did however apply such a decal to my early production US VIC-20 to recreate the effect:
