Epson 6110 / 6120 Paper Tape Punch : Interface Spec / Maintenance Documentation / Guidance

@Martin Bishop You're right, the sprocket type reading unit isn't very friendly to the paper ;) and thanks for your advice on the Fanuc Tape Reader, I found one on eBay for about 70€.

As you have rushed out and bought a Fanuc PTR, I shall point you at a toy interface I did to evaluate the PIC16F13145's PLD capability (weak) https://www.emeritus-solutions.com/papertape/fanuc/FanucInterFace1.zip However, the EVB is sub 20 £/$/e, it provides both a serial output and a (pedal) switch tape hold. The complete design is in the zip, also a pin out spreadsheet for the Fanuc connector if you prefer to reimplement. There are pictures of the interfacery in my Fanuc zoo - you may have already seen them - https://www.emeritus-solutions.com/papertape/fanuc/visualise.php. And, once you have more paper tape than can be laid out straight for feeding, you will need appropriate unspooling arrangements to avoid paper tangles ...
