To announce that I have FINALLY acquired (thru ebay) my 2810HD :D:D

AFAIK it is 'mostly' a duplicate of the 1800, with a few 'additions':
1) External VGA port,
2) External KBD port (PS/2-type),
3) 4 Mb (4x1mb-30p SIMM) expandable memory (which I already have :D),
Shows how bad the ole memory is here! (See new post!)
4) ... 16Mhz CPU (If I recall correctly).

With any luck, it will be able to 'guide' me thru the work on the 1800!

... and back to the 1500!
Thanks to SPEEDSTOR, I was able to LLF 'Lazarus' into restoring the few bad sectors/tracks it acquired thru all this dis/re assembly thats been going on. RIGHT NOW, it shows NO errors at all, which makes me very happy considering its age and the fact that I had it open!

Since the 'new' 2810 will likely need a CMOS battery too, and Im SURE the 1800 does (If it ever 'comes together'), I will likely go ahead and buy new OEM-type batts for ALL of them! Sure wish they were more compatible with a socket-type setup tho!

An aknowledgement of ignorance:
I finally know why the 1800 (and 2810) require PAIRS of 30-pin SIMMS...
Because 30pin SIMMS are 8-bits wide... you NEED 2 for a 16-bit data path!

Duh!
