I'd love to find any documentation on this 4 floppy controller with external header. I'm also curious what the missing logic and jumper block's were supposed to be for. Any information would be appreciated.
The FDC in this case is a clone of the Western Digital WD37C65, as used on, for example, the WD1002 FOX 4-floppy controller (see: here). The WD chip was an early effort to put an AT-compatible FDC on a single chip. Because it was early, it requires 2 crystals (16MHz to handle the 250 KHz and 500 Khz data rates and 9.6 to handle the 300Khz (360K in a 1.2M drive) rate). Later controllers simply use a 24MHz crystal.
I don't think there is anything special about this either, but it would still be nice to find a manual. If I can't find one, I'll get this on the bench and try to map out the jumper settings and I'll try to post them here.
