Floppy Disk Storage Boxes

I still have THOUSANDS of assorted Macintosh floppy disks I want to store yet still have easy access too so if I need a random disk I can pull it out of a box without making a mess. Finding enough of the conventional plastic floppy disk storage boxes is beyond possible so I'm curious if they ever made paper/cardboard floppy storage boxes. I know that they have (and still are) made them for CD's. They're what I'm looking for, only for 3.5" disks.

It's not something Ikea has in stock. Believe me. I looked.

Shoe boxes? You can get two rows of 3.5" floppies in an average sized box, and each box will hold about 200-250.

I've got extra plastic storage boxes but they're the 5¼" size.

So long as the top isn't more than the disks inside so I can stack more boxes on top, that will do.
Shoeboxes won't work for me. They're too wide for the shelving I have and even filled there's still an empty (and thus wasted) space inside.

The cardboard storage boxes you are looking for did exist--I have six of them. I can look on one to see what the brand was if you'd like, but mine are in use and so not available.

It would be awesome if you found a supplier for them new. I'd take 20 at least.

Those cardboard ones look good. I've used those for parts shelves a lot. For 3.25" floppies, I used to use a plastic parts bin which fit two side by side rows exactly. It fit well in a drawer. I'll let you do the Googling.

I too could not find any reasonable storage.for 5-1/4 (I have a couple 100, not thousands). I ended up using the cardboard boxes (which I had from eons ago) and bought the plastic containers. I can store maybe 100 or so.

Back in the day I used Fellows disk drive drawers that you could interconnect with others side to side and top and bottom for both 3.5" and 5.25" disks. The front of the drawer had a removable tag so you could label the contents of the drawer. When I got into collecting, I made sure to snag some more on eBay
