FS: Brand New Tandy 1000 Adapters for EX, HX, SX, TX etc

Off the subject, have you ever made a riser for more than 3 cards? I was wondering if a ribbon cable could be run into the second HX drive bay to hold a Lo Tech CF while still having 2 expansion cards and a memory board.... just a thought tho. I get a little carried away with upgrades.

The Riser only supports 2 ISA cards - unfortunately there simply isn't room for a 3rd usable slot ... and I did try but it's not possible to close the lid. Ideally I'd like to make a version of the Riser card with ram on it but im not having much luck finding good documentation to do this.

Maybe someone could convince James Pearce to make a dual CF-IDE and 512kb RAM expansion?

I was actually thinking of a riser card that also had a ribbon cable with an ISA connector on the end. That was an additional card could be outside the case, or inside the second floppy slot on an HX.

I'm just thinking whats possible... not pressuring you to build it :)

Lol, yeah that would work and is feasible .... actually in theory you could have an entire extra Riser card outside the case. :D

The main problem to solve would be making a workable cable system - it's starting getting a bit pricey tho as the connectors required arent cheap.

Are the "Tandy 1000 EX/HX PLUS-ISA/R Adapter" still available? I don't see them on the Tindie site? Just the new riser for 'without the memory expansion'

I just spent a couple of hours in the workshop (much to my wife's annoyance) and there is now 6 FDD Adapters in-stock + the internal Gotek Adapter is back in stock too.

Howdy All, my Tindie Store now has a limited number of 1000 EX/HX PLUS-ISA/R adapters in stock - it's increasingly hard to get the 62pin headers and I'm likely to struggle to to get another batch.

The latest 62 Pin headers are a very tight fit with the PLUS Connectors, as a result they are quite stiff and removing them requires a great deal of effort and care to prevent damage to the PLUS connector pins. I recommend that, once installed, you leave them installed in your PLUS RAM expansion and do not remove them when swapping out ISA cards.

So I've got another new adapter available for the 1000 EX & HX machines, it uses my external floppy drive cable to allow you to add a standard 3.5" Floppy drive externally without needing a case or power supply.

I'm also having a cyber Monday 15% off stocked items sale.

I re-discovered this forum thanks to your adapters, I placed an order for the Plus to ISA and signed up on the standby list for some of the other adapters. Its time to get the 1000HX upgraded!
