Gaming on the Tandy 1000 SX

I guess there's a bug in the video memory detection code. If you're sure you have the 128 kB memory upgrade, then ADJMEM isn't necessary and you can use -HIDDENCARD to skip the video memory check.

Tandy music can be enabled in the Configure Menu. In all versions: CGA, EGA, MCGA and Tandy 1000.

I believe you have to manually turn on the Tandy support in the "music" section. (sound effects still use PC speaker)

I did try that. Under the sound settings is pc speaker or no sound effects. The bottom two options adliv/soundblaster or quiet adlib/soundblaster have X's and cant be chosen.



Funny how tandy sound has a check next to it but is greyed out. Almost as if I am missing a file or something. Not sure which.

I added the missing RAM chips myself. It displays the full 768K

Commander Keen has a separate Music Configuration Menu. This way you can use one sound device for sound effects and a different sound device for music.

+1 to @Frenkel . Your screenshot is of the "Sound Effects" menu, the Tandy support doesn't do anything there. The Tandy support is on the Music menu.

Yes you guys were right. Music and sound have their own menus.
The music is working via tandy sound.. but its pretty quiet. I have the volume knob on the front of the machine all the way up and the pc speaker sounds are 4 times as loud. Regardless, this works fine. Thank you! On to find more Tandy games.

I have seen videos of people playing the secret of monkey island on a tandy 1000 in tandy graphics and sound. I even found the switches. but it wont load on mine. I need to find another copy.
