Hello all I just picked up a very clean gridcase 3 plus and through luck was able to revive most of it. The issue I’m having is figuring out the sw1 switch configuration in the upper left portion by the battery bay.
Ok so here are the issues when I originally got it I replaced the cmos battery with a temporary replacement and got it to boot via the rom dos installed. I then had issues with the 32170 floppy drive reading and formatting disks it spins up but I do not hear the head seek and confirmed by running it with the cover off’ I’ve also cleaned the heads. Miraculously after unplugging and plugging the hard drive back in it spun up and booted from hard drive with no issues. So here’s what I’m looking for.
(1) sw1 switch settings for 1 internal hard disk and 1 external floppy disk
(2)modern replacement for the jvc hard drive. Mines working but who knows for how long
(3)any reputable business that rebuild battery packs? I have the original here.
I have a lot of experience with ibm xt/at and kaypro machines. I’ve lost my null modem cable and have ordered a replacement and will most likely use lap link and my xt machine to transfer files. I also have both cable for the floppy drives and the ac adapter. Thanks all love the forum!
