Hey everyone,

I'm Yuri, currently (the last 20 years) living in Amsterdam. I'm a relatively new collector but diving in deep! Current collection projects include:
  • Maxing out a Macintosh SE FDHD
  • Maxing out a Macintosh SE/30
  • Maxing out a Macintosh TAM
  • Bringing all of the above to the web. I will use a rendering proxy on a Raspberry Pi for this. The Pi will provide ethernet and the proxy.
  • I'm also looking into manufacturing some PCBs in a limited run to sell them. For example, finding a comm slot (CS2) riser card for the TAM is close to impossible. So let me know if you're interested in such a card.
Other than that, I have an Apple IIe which I haven't opened up yet and still have to figure out how to do things it was never intended for with it :)

On a tangent, I'm interested in getting an IMSAI, an ADM terminal (basically the WarGames movie setup). A PDP-11/70 might be interesting as well.

I'm also slowly looking into meetups in Europe; I like to travel, so location is not a big concern.

Looking forward to meeting fellow enthusiasts and swapping stories (and maybe gear!).

Cheers,
Yuri

Hi Yuri,
Welcome to the Forums.
I have find memories of Amsterdam.
I once bought a Sinclair ZX-81 in Shciphol airport duty-free shop.
I thought those shops were just for mundane luxury goods.
But computers, wow!
Still runs great too.

Hi John,
Wow! That must have been a while back. Around the time that a ZX-81 would have been sold at Schiphol, I was in Florida; spending too many quarters at the arcade, playing and programming basic on a coleco adam and around '85 trying to make sense of a macintosh which had zero games at my mom's work.
BTW, Schiphol electronics shop is still pretty good.

Welcome to the forum @yuri!

I assume that you have visited the Home Computer Museum in Helmond? I haven't (located in the USA, and I don't get to Europe as often as I used to), but I have met Bart and some of his volunteers, and their efforts have borne amazing results.

Thank Alex!

I have not been there and it's only a 2 hour drive! Definitely will take the Ultimate Geek Tour one of these weekends.

Thanks again!
