Hi All,

I'm new to repairing vintage PCs (and already have 3 projects going at the same time) and hoping to find some helpful tips and tricks in these forums.
I have an IBM 2140-L5H (286), Gateway GT5014 (circa 2005, Win XP) and a Lenovo IdeaCentre from 2011 (Win 10) and so far, the only one that's operating properly is the Gateway. The nostalgia bug has taken a bite and I really want to get the 286 running ( I have a couple of vintage games that would only run on the 286..like SimTower).
I'm also in the process of upgrading the Lenovo - changed the old dual core processor to an i5 quad, upgraded ram from 6 to 8 gig (would like to eventually increase that) and upgraded the PSU to a 500w unit.

Thanks,
Vinny

I have the game but don't have the 286 fully operational.. my 2nd oldest machine is way too fast (the gateway), figured I could get it to work on this one once I get the bugs worked out.
I am only here for the 286, just wanted to share what I'm working with.
