I have a pretty nice IBM PC-XT for sale here. I also have an IBM color monitor for it.

I honestly do not know anything else about it other than that it powers on and disks work in the two 5.25'' drives. I've never used it so I am not sure how to check the RAM, and HD space.

It has the Model-M keyboard, and a dot matrix printer who's working status I am not sure of.

I've never used the computer, and only got it because I thought it would be fun to mess around with!

I recently put a brand new (got it off eBay still shrink wrapped!) Everex EGA video card in it, but never got around to re-powering it on and setting everything up....

If someone is interested feel free to PM me or e-mail me at dancethetango50@yahoo.com . I'm sure a more informed person can tell me what I'd need to do to find out the RAM and HD space on it and I'd be more than happy to do it and let everyone know!

I don't know it's market value, so I am asking for a fair offer. It's being shipped from the US!

I'm also selling a mint in box Toshiba T1000SE portable computer. It powers on, and has an extra battery. I am not sure how long/if these batteries will last, but I suppose that's a common issue with a portable computer that old.

Again, fair offer for this too.

Thanks for checking!

It would be helpful if you location was something more specific than "Earth". This would be very expensive to ship so it would be more enticing to a potential buyer if they lived in your area.

I am an hour from Cleveland OH (Youngstown), where exactly by cleveland is it?

How much are you looking to get?

I live in Parma Heights. I don't think Youngstown is far away. Im just a few minutes from 480-E and the sign says Youngstown on it. ;)

Its roughly 20 mins from the downtown area.

I saw that some goober on ebay was selling a similar one for around 500$. I think he is on some sort of drug. I was looking at/hoping for around 250$ since I was told the monitors are hard to come by.

PM me or IM me at Dancethetango50, and we could talk a bit more about it!

Thanks for the interest! :)

Way to much $$ for me. Can't think of the last computer I paid more then $50 for.

This may be an unnecessary question since you said it was an XT but do you happen to have the model number that it says it is? I agree you probably won't get $250, maybe more than $50 but it depends on the system's conditions and who's looking.

I just ran down to check everything: Heres the model for the IBM PC and the monitor model #

I realize now 250$ may be farfetched since another one is here for 150$ also. So something along that priceline would be great.

IBM PC-XT model 5160
IBM Personal Computer Display model 5153
IBM Model M keyboard
also an Alps Dot Matrix Printer ASP1000 I'm not sure of its working status, but I 'll just toss it in there.

I threw in that Everex Super EGA card capable of many modes of video. It was shrinked in box and still has the software disk, and all of the paperwork. Manual and all.

The computer itself is mint. No funny smells, no funny colors, no funny noises. It came from a business environment so it was well taken care of.

There is also this Toshiba T1000 portable computer, still in its gigantic box, with all the stuff including boot disks. Any reasonable offer and I can part with that also. The battery might not be in ship-shape anymore, but everything else is.....

I'll be taking photos of these items, and a few other things I'm trying to sell , so I will post them up here sometime today :)

Thanks!

UPDATE UPDATE

Got it all set up and running. Passes the 640kb memory test, AND does find hard disk. It says Drive C: is a ST225

After this, it eventually goes to a blinking cursor that indefinitely blinks but does not let me type. It doesn't go to the IBM BASIC screen as it did when it didn't find HDs. I'm thinking this means it needs a boot disk, and a fresh OS of some sort on the hard disk.....

The screens are shown using the Everex graphics card, set to 80x25 CGA mode, which AFAIK is the best res. for the 5153 monitor.

Here are some pics finally!

I tried to get a picture of the bottom but it just wouldnt show up With flash it comes up as a big white mass, and without it doesn't focus well.. . Its a 1986 Model M keyboard, complete with the great clicking sound!

its dated Feb 05 1986, Pt No 1390120
ID #: B9233 EC #528148
Plt # FL2
Model M

What I find odd is the lack of LED panel in the top right. Any ideas? I think it was a 1986 only version that had the lack of LED

I have that keyboard. It was specifically designed for the XT, hence the lack of lights.

It's a late model XT. These came with 20MB drives, half-height floppy drives and an 'enhanced' keyboard.

It looks like someone has replaced the hard drive controller card (maybe the hard drive too).

Its possible. It was in use at a steel factory, so who knows what they used it for :)

Was it standard that they come with 2 floppy drives?

You could order them with 1 or 2 half-height floppy drives. If you bought a machine with 1 floppy, you got a blanking frame in the lower half.

I realized "duh, I can get a DOS bootdisk off the web", and now I am wondering, do the PCXT floppies read HD, or DD disks?

They support at least DD. The first revision of the XT BIOS (1982) doesn't support HD, but I don't know if the newer ones do.
