I'm the proud and now the sad owner of an IBM PowerPC Thinkpad 850

It is now ** not working ** in the sense that poweron reveals nothing

So I'm looking for a fellow enthusiast to help me

a) either get it working

b) take mine away for parts for your working system

Obviously I'd rather get it working, but since I have 2 batteries, 2 CDroms, 2 Hard Drives and have swapped all in and out and still a blank screen I fear all is lost

So, over to the forum. Help please?

regards marcus b

I have seen the power bricks around. I do believe some of the normal Intel thinkpads used the same one.
Once you have that you should just need to slide the power switch and it will come to life (or at least the row of status LEDs will light up). It will however be cranky if one or both of the two DRAM memory cards are missing.
