IBM PS/1 TYPE 2121. HDD works, FDD doesn't. No configur.exe on HDD.

IBM PS/1 TYPE 2121. HDD works, FDD doesn't. No configur.exe on HDD.

As the floppy doesn't work I have no way to use configur.exe to set FDD.

I do have a picoMEM.

Any ides how I can use configur.exe?

I've had both the caps go bad and the media/density sense switches go dirty on those too.

I have a 2011, it has a hard drive with configur.exe and customiz.com so i'll transfer the hdd to 2121 and see how i get on before I get the soldering iron out.

A hitch. the hdd in the 2011 is ide with it's own molex power. the 2121 has some sort of a cable wider than an ide cable and no seperate molex power cable. Also according to Copilot the isa slots only carry data no power.

ps/1 which has 6.22 and win for workgroups on it.

OK, I have a sabrant ide to cf card adapter. And a cf card wit dos 6.22. I'll put fconfigur and custimz on the card and see how I get on with the fdd

i've put configur on the cf card and when i booted into dos i ran configur . it showed the 3.5 disk which dir shows files

Didn't the ROM DOS in these things contain CONFIGUR.EXE?

it doesn't seem to have rom dos. Maybe its set to boost from a: then fixed disk. I'll check tomorrow.
