Yeah I saw one on eBay for a buck fifty. That's a pretty penny. Without popping the case on my mod 30 does it replace the 286 chip? How exactly does it plug in to the 286 mobo?
Does this upgrade "HyperACE SX (M30)" plug into th existing 286 socket?
Are you saying you'd consider selling it or just showing the pics/info about it? Nice to know about it; I'll search the web for this cool piece.
Thanks
We're not talking about 8-bit slots. A 286 has 16-bit slots but the Mach64 needs a 386 or higher processor.hello.. Mach32 works well in 8bit slot - i also did try mach64 in 8 bit slot , but did not get it working..

My goal is to upgrade the video on the Model 30-286 to XGA or even SVGA in DOS and possibly even Windows 3.X. Is this even possible and if so, what video card would you recommend?
If you want to trade the Mach64 for a 1MB VGA card that is 286 compatible let me know and I'll have a look to see what I have.fs5500, agreed but I found that not all ISA SVGA cards work. For example, I have a Mach64 card that I learned requires a 386 processor or better.
Why is that?If you had an 80287 math-co I presume you had to remove it?
Another cpu upgrade for the Model 30-286. This one has a 486SLC2 running at 50 MHz
