Greetings,

My Northstar Horizon is functioning now with NSZ80 eprom monitor on the CPU card, working floppy controller, and functioning hram 64k ram card.

Is anyone available in the US that can provide a good 56k cp/m system DSDD ( N* quad density) floppy to bootstrap me? I have a VSG board to assemble but the floppies are belt driven Tandon TM-100-2A drives - they 'should' work with soft sector floppies but hard sector floppies would be better. I can gladly cover postage and expenses.

Thanks much - John - N0HJ

John,
I have a HORIZON.ZIP file with lots of *.NSI images.

If you (or a buddy) has a DOS Computer you should be able to write the Images with IMAGEDISK by Dave Dunfield.

The Tandon TM-100's are DS/DD (48 TPI) and not DS/QD (98TPI). I have a Tandon TM-104 which is an 80 Track
DS/QD Drive, but I'm out of town for the winter season.

There a document about copying from PC to NSI in xfer.zip. More NSI files in horizon.zip

If you run Linux you should be able to write them from Linux. (The data is INVERTED).

You might find mmcpm417 helpful/useful. I don't have the URL bookmarked, but it is in the C file.

Also open the floppy Drive Doors, Shine a light into the hinge area. Make 100% sure the hinge had a full length
Brass ROD for the huinge part to pivot on. If the Hinge Part is BROKEN, I have SPARES that are 3D Resin
Printed in TOUGH Resin.
