Trying to figure out board EV80960CA from late 80's / early 90's. The board is obviously missing two components - an oscillator Y2 and ROM chip in U63. With power supplied (via an adaptor from ATX PSU), it shows a fault as in the image.

Given that oscillators are socketed I have faint hopes that trying out a bunch with common values within 2 - 16 range I might hit an operational spot but the ROM seems a much harder problem. Apparently, it should contain software labelled MON960 (versions 1.1 to 2.0) that implements terminal access via RS232 and remote debugger hooks for GNU GDB.

MON960 was supplied in source form as a part of CTOOLS (Intel's name for i960 dev tools). Here is CTOOLS v6 with documentation on more recent boards: https://archive.org/details/iq-80960-rxk-5-2_202509

Unfortunately, this CTOOLS appears just too new and there is no suitable target (EVCA?) in the Makefile. The code references chips that are obviously not present on my board (and documentation describes completely different boards). Such CTOOLS could have been a part of "Developers' Insight" CD set.

Attached are two pictures of my board (one switched on) and the only one other I have found online (in a low resolution). I wonder if someone eagle-eyed can decipher the missing oscillator marking? (btw, I have straightened jumper pins after taking photos! )

Might anyone know anything about the board, have the MON960 ROM, CTOOLS from early 90s (say v. 2 or v. 3?) or "Developers' Insight" from that period?
