I have a Kaypro II, a Kaypro 2X and a Kaypro 4 computer, plus a Kaypro printer and some books and software. I am considering selling the collection, and I am curious what it might be worth? I see Kaypro computers selling for widely varied amounts on ebay (by themselves) and I am trying to determine if it would be more valuable to sell my whole collection as a unit, or piece it out.

Your thoughts, ideas and opinions are welcome!

P.S. I'd also like to transfer some Kaypro software to the PC to run in a Kaypro simulator. Any ideas about how to do this? I can't find any modem software among my Kaypro stuff.

Thanks!

Depending on condition, documentation, etc. the typical Kaypro is worth between $50 and $150 in eBay money.

I doubt you'd get as much for the collection as a whole as you'd get if you pieced it out, but you never know.

As for getting data off of the Kaypro disks, there are several programs out there that allow PCs with 5.25 drives to read CP/M (and other) disks.

22Disk is, I think, a good example.

Good luck!

Erik
