Kybe Series 440 9-track reel-to-reel tape drive. That's all I know about it. I have not powered it up, I don't know if it works. It's got a dent as shown in the photo. It is about 2 feet wide and 1 foot deep and almost 2 feet high. I suppose it's made to sit tabletop.

Will deliver to VCF Midwest this weekend for $100. Limited time offer :)

I think you got it from me when I had it at CHM and didn't see I'd ever use it for anything
 
I got it from when I did e-waste recycling for the CHM, so yes, it most definitely came from you.

That device is very specialized. It is a tape cleaner/recertifier.
It really isn't that useful for media recovery because it moves tape really fast and
is likely to do major damage to any tape not in good physical condition. It is also
big and heavy which is why I scrapped it in the 00s.
Documentation would have been nice. If any still survives I'd like to archive it
at bitsavers.

Finally found my way back here. I don’t have any documentation other than my memory. I know how to operate it and how to test/troubleshoot it.

It’s not terribly rough on tapes. It’s designed to remove debris from the tape and to detect areas of missing oxide. It’s very unlikely to damage a tape, especially if you run it without the scraper blades installed. There are two sapphire blades used to dislodge debris embedded in the tape, then the cleaning tissues wipe it away.
