I have an old SC-7 module that i want to hook up with my Contura 430c to play vintage games, unfortunatly the contura lacks both midi ports and audio, just ***PC-speaker***.

The SC-7 have a mini DIN interface 8-pin (RS422?), i guess there once must been a DIN to serial RS232 cable for the SC-7?

***Seems like i missunderstood the RS422 is an older serial standard, to use on the PC side, i guess 8 pin female mini DIN is the name of the module contact***

Is it possible to get hands on such a cable or must you make it?

Hmmm... It's interesting to read about a MIDI module that can actually be hooked up directly to an RS-232 serial port.

From what I had gathered, MIDI was incompatible with RS-232 because different baud rates.

I never understood why they didn't base the MIDI standard on RS-232 in the first place, since it was so similar with it to begin with, yet different enough not to work with it.
